The BC EMA Special Bulletin on Advance Directives for EMR and FR courses in Kelowna, BC.
As a professional Emergency Medical Repsonder or First Responder in British Columbia, you may encounter patients with Advance Medical Directives so you need to have a working understanding of what they are. An Advance Directive is any written instruction made by a capable adult, with regard to consent or refusal of specific types of medical care.
In the event that the adult is not capable of giving instruction at the time the health care is required, the Advance Directive provides a durable expression of their intent.
