Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board
The BC Emergency Medical Assistant's Licensing Board (BC EMALB) is responsible for establishing and monitoring minimum levels of competence and professionalism for all Licensed Emergency Medical Responders and First Responders in British Columbia.
As a Professional Medical Responder licensed through EMALB in the Province of British Columbia, you are subject to all the local rules and legislation, including those imposed by the BC Emergency Medical Assistant's Licensing Board themselves. In order to obtain a First Responder or Emergency Medical Responder Licence, you will need to complete EMALB's licensing process and evaluations. Then, in order to keep that licence in good standing, you will need to meet EMALB's ongoing licensing maintenance, renewal, or reintstatement policies.
The links below will take you to some of the most relevant pages within BC EMALB's website with regard to maintaining your First Responder or Emergency Medical Responder licence. You should periodically refamiliarize yourself with the most current versions of the information and guidelines on the EMALB website, as EMALB does update their policies frequently.
