In particular, Canadian Red Cross Instructors looking for verification of current credentials and proof of minimum teaching requirements to qualify for Upgrades or Recertification should begin by talking to the NCC.

The Canadian Red Cross Kelowna Office coordinate the local Health Equipment Loan (H.E.L.P.) program whih provides both short and long term medical equipment loans, as well as acting as a local coordination and shipping center when regional Disaster Relief efforts are underway.

International Committee of the Red Cross
The International Committee of the Red Cross is the head of the Red Cross Movement...and sets the priorities and vision for all Red Cross activities and projects.
Working in support of the ICRC, are the International Federation of the Red Cross, Red Crescent , and Red Crystal Societies.
The Federation helps to coordinate the individual National Societies and works towards alleviating human suffering around the world.
At the "ground level" are the National Societies themselves...providing services and training in over 190 countries.
The Canadian Red Cross is one of these National Societies, operating primarily within Canada while still supporting international initiatives
Disaster Relief

Health Equipment Loans Program (HELP)
The Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) has benefited thousands of Canadian Residents in many Canadian communities, including Kelowna, BC.
With the support of the Canadian Red Cross network of volunteers, donors, funders and partners, Individuals dealing with injury or illness can take advantage of this program to improve their quality of life and independence, regardless of financial circumstances.
Short Term Loans
People returning from hospital, seniors with with mobility issues and palliative care recipients have access to many types of medical equipment, free of charge. Some examples:

Long Term Loans
The "Aids to Independent Living (AIL) Program" is available to eligible seniors throughout participating communities in BC. This program includes an Application Process and a Financial Eligibility test...to ensure that resources are allocated for the greatest positive impact. Professional Health Care providers, including the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, can assist their patients/clients with the application process.
