BC EMALB EMACCS
Summary of the Emergency Medical Assistants' Continuing Competency System (EMACCS) platform for Emergency Medical Responders maintaining an EMALB Licence in British Columbia. BC EMALB routinely updates their policies and processes. All EMALB policies should be confirmed with BC EMALB directly.
As a BC EMALB Emergency Medical Responder Licence holder, your EMR Licence will remain valid for up to 5 years, provided you complete and document EMALB's yearly Continuing Competence requirements. These requirements include the completion of 20 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits, and documenting 20 Patient contacts. BC EMALB has a list of pre-approved activities, courses and training that will qualify for a specific amount of CME credits. If you complete an activity or training course that isn't on the pre-approved list, you will need to contact BC EMALB and attempt to negotiate a CME credit allocation for that activity.
You will need to submit these Credits and Contacts to BC EMALB through their Emergency Medical Assistants Continuing Competence System (EMACCS), which is an online documentation portal that you will access through your BCeID profile. It's important to submit your requirements regularly, well in advance of the yearly deadlines to avoid miscommunication and ensure your EMALB EMR Licence remains valid and in good standing.
