Emergency Childbirth License Endorsement Policy for EMALB Licensed First Responders in Kelowna, BC.

The BC Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board has created an endorsement for EMALB Licensed First Responders to respond to emergency childbirths. With this endorsement in place, it is now considered "In-Scope" for EMALB Licensed First Responders in British Columbia to respond to these types of incidents, and provide a level of emergency medical care for those involved.

Emergency Childbirth is now a mandatory component of all EMALB recognized First Responder training programs, including Canadian Red Cross First Responder Certification courses. In addition to the training content in the First Responder course itself, BC EMALB has also added Emergency Childbirth related questions to their First Responder Licensing Written Evaluations.
