First Aid Courses with CPR-AED
First Aid certification makes you safer at home, more employable as a Worker, and protects you as an Employer.
Your Canadian Red Cross First Aid course will include CPR-AED level C (Adult, Child and Infant).
- Emergency First Aid (EFA) is 8 hours and meets WorkSafe BC's Basic Occupational First Aid certification requirements for workplace first aid attendants.
- Standard First Aid (SFA) is 16 hours and meets WorkSafe BC's Intermediate Occupational First Aid requirements and Alberta WCB's certification requirements for workplace first aid attendants. Standard First Aid also includes all legislative requirements for Child Care Facility First Aid providers.
CPR-AED certification is also available as a stand-alone course. Your Canadian Red Cross CPR course will include Automated External Defibrillation (AED).
- CPR level C includes the skills to perform CPR & AED on Adults, Children and Babies.
- CPR level A includes the skills to perform CPR & AED on Adults only.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) was previously referred to as CPR HCP, and includes the skills to perform CPR & AED on Adults, Children, Infants, and Neonates, as well as additional skills such as pulse checks and Bag-Valve-Mask, for Health Care Professionals.
- Oxygen Therapy (O2) includes the use of Oxygen equipment, OPAs and BVMs.
