Identification Requirements for BC Workplace First Aid
In order to meet WorkSafe BC regulatory requirements for Occupational First Aid certification, Fronltine is required to verify the identity of all participants in any First Aid course that is recognized as OFA/OFA equivalent.
You must present your Workplace First Aid Instructor with an acceptable form of identification at your course, or Medi-Pro will not be permitted to issue a First Aid Certificate, regardless of your attendance and performance.
Please review the types of Identification accepted by WorkSafe BC, and contact Medi-Pro well before your scheduled course date if you have any questions about the type of ID you are bringing.
Identification requirements include one of the following options. Please contact Medi-Pro before your course if you are unsure whether or not your ID verification will meet these requirements. Medi-Pro is not permitted to issue First Aid certification unless identitification has been verified.
Option 1 (One piece of Photo ID)
- Valid Canadian or U.S. Driver's License
- Valid Passport
- Valid Student ID Card for the current school year
- Employee Picture Identification Card
- Native Status Picture Identification Card
- BC Photo ID (including digital) issued November 1996 or later
- Any other Canadian Government-Issued Photo ID
Option 2 (One Primary & Two Secondary)
One piece of Primary ID
- Birth Certificate
- Canadian Citizenship ID
- Canadian Record of Landing
- Canadian Student Visa
- Canadian Work Visa
- Returning Resident Permit
Two pieces of Secondary ID
- Naturalization Certificate
- Marriage Certificate
- Change of Name Certificate
- Parole Certificate
- Correction Service Conditional Release Card
- Valid Credit Card (if name is on card)
- Bank Card (if name is on card)
- Vehicle Registration
- Social Insurance Card
- BC Care Card
- Occupational First Aid Certificate or Equivalent
Option 3 (Employer/Sponsor Letter)
- Signature of an official of the company/agency
- Official's name printed next to or under their Signature
- Official's contact information and position within the company/agency
- Statement that the participant is who they say they are
