Participating in a Wilderness First Aid course carries inherent and unavoidable risks.
Although your Wilderness First Aid Instructor will take reasonable precautions to reduce and mitigate the potential hazards, they cannot be eliminated completely.
If you do not provide your Wilderness First Aid Instructor with a completed and signed Liability Waiver by the start of your Wilderness First Aid course, you will not be permitted to participate.
Potential risks associated with Wilderness First Aid courses include:
- Slippery and/or uneven terrain
- Animal and Insect bites or stings
- Exposure to toxic plants such as Poison ivy and Devil's Club
- Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke
- Hypothermia
- Musculoskeletal strains and sprains
- Delayed access to emergency medical response
