As a Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Instructor, one of the tools you will provide to your Wilderness First Aid course participants is the SOAP Note.

The Wilderness First Aid SOAP Note provides a structured approach to assessing, summarizing and recording information about someone who is ill or injured in a remotely accessible location as well as your plan to provide care and get them to safety.

• Subjective Assessment
• Objective Assessment
• Assessment Summary
• Plan

The Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Aid SOAP Note can be downloaded through the Canadian Red Cross Instructor Boulevard platform, attached to your MyRC Profile. You will need to provide your students with enough copies to give them lot's of opportunities to practice utilizing the SOAP Notes in a variety of scenarios and situations.

Download Instructions

1. Login to your MyRC Profile
   (click here for instructions to activate your MyRC Profile, if you haven't already done so)
2. Select "Tools"
3. Select "First Aid Programs"
4. Select "Wilderness & Remote First Aid"
5. Select "Other Tools"
6. Click "SOAP Note (2020)"
7. View and/or download the file through your browser
