Wilderness First Aid Liability Waiver

Participating in a Wilderness First Aid course carries inherent and unavoidable risks.
Although your Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Instructor will take reasonable precautions to reduce and mitigate the potential hazards, they cannot be eliminated completely.
If you do not provide your Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Instructor with a completed and signed Liability Waiver by the start of your Wilderness First Aid course, you will not be permitted to participate.
Potential risks associated with Wilderness First Aid courses include:
- Slippery and/or uneven terrain
- Animal and Insect bites or stings
- Exposure to toxic plants such as Poison ivy and Devil's Club
- Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke
- Hypothermia
- Musculoskeletal strains and sprains
- Delayed access to emergency medical response
The Canadian Red Cross Wilderness First Aid course Liability Waiver can be downloaded through the Canadian Red Cross Instructor Boulevard platform, attached to your MyRC Profile. You will need to provide your students with a copy of the Liability Waiver and ensure they return completed copies to you before the start of the Wilderness First Aid course.
How to Download the Liability Waiver
- Login to your MyRC Profile
(click here for instructions to activate your MyRC Profile, if you haven't already done so) - Select "Tools"
- Select "First Aid Programs"
- Select "Wilderness & Remote First Aid"
- Select "Other Tools"
- Click "Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risks and Release Agreement"
- View and/or download the file through your browser
