WorkSafe BC First Aid Program Standards
Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid certificates are considered equivalent to Level 1 Occupational First Aid in accordance with WorkSafe BC. In order to secure this OFA equivalency, WorkSafe BC requires that Canadian Red Cross Instructors follow some of the policies outlined in the WorkSafe BC First Aid Program Standards when teaching Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid courses in BC.
These guidelines for First Aid course delivery are supplemental to those outlined in the Canadian Red Cross First Aid Program Standards, and in some cases overrule them.
The WorkSafe BC First Aid course delivery Program Standards can be downloaded through the Canadian Red Cross Instructor Boulevard platform, attached to your MyRC Profil. These additional policies are not required for any Canadian Red Cross courses other than Emergency First Aid, Standard First Aid and Marine First Aid taught in BC.
