WorkSafe BC OFA Attendant Responsiblities
Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid certificates are considered equivalent to Level 1 Occupational First Aid in accordance with WorkSafe BC. In order to secure this OFA equivalency, WorkSafe BC requires that Canadian Red Cross Instructors provide some supplemental information regarding the Roles and Responsibilities of First Aid Attendants when teaching Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid courses in BC.
The WorkSafe BC - Roles and Responsibilities of an Occupational First Aid Attendant student supplement provides Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid participants with information about their rights and responsibilities when acting in the role of a designated WorkSafe BC Level 1 First Aid Attendant in the workplace. This information will help Canadian Red Cross EFA and SFA certificate holders to provide First Aid care to BC workers in a safe and defensible manner.
