Our Standard and Emergency First Aid courses include CPR & AED certification, and are recognized by WorkSafe BC for meeting Occupational Level 1 First Aid requirements for workplace first aid attendants. Our Emergency Medical Responder and First Responder training includes Basic Life Support with CPR, AED, Oxygen Therapy, and Airway Management certification, as well as eligibility for BC EMALB Licensing.

Occupational First Aid
Our Canadian Red Cross basic first aid training courses, including Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid are recognized by WorkSafe BC and the Alberta Worker's Compenstation Board.
Your Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid (8 hrs) course certificate is recognized by WorkSafe BC as equivalent to Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) and your certification will satisfy all WorkSafe's requirements for OFA Level 1 first aid attendant qualifications in the BC workplace. Your Standard First Aid certificate is also recognized by WorkSafe BC as OFA Level 1, and is additionally recognized by the Alberta Worker's Compensation Board (WCB) for workplace first aid attendant requirements in Alberta so you cover multiple jurisdictions with one certification.
Your BC EMALB First Responder Licence is recognized by WorkSafe BC as equivalent to Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2) for purposes of fire hall and fireground operations. Additionally, your First Responder Licence qualifies you to obtain an unrestricted WorkSafe BC OFA Level 2 Certificate through a self-guided jurisprudence process.
Your BC EMALB Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Licence qualifies you to obtain an unrestricted WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 3 (OFA 3) Certificate through a self-guided jurisprudence process.
EMALB Licensing
Our Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder certification courses and First Responder certification courses provide you with eligiblity for British Columbia Emergency Medical Assistant's Licensing Board (BC EMALB) licensure.
First Responder License
Upon successful completion your Canadian Red Cross First Responder course and receiving your corresponding Canadian Red Cross First Responder certificate, you will be able to engage the BC EMALB FR license application and evaluation process. This will involve submitting your application for a First Responder License, and completing the online EMALB Jurisprudence written exam and First Responder Knowledge exam.
EMR License
Upon successful completion your Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder course and receiving your corresponding Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder certificate, you will be able to engage the BC EMALB EMR license application and evaluation process. This will involve submitting your application for an Emergency Medical Responder License, and completing the online EMALB Jurisprudence written exam and First Responder Knowledge exam, as well as scheduling and completing your EMALB Practical Evaluations.
You will have one year from completing your EMR or First Responder course to complete the corresponding EMALB Licensing process.
